One photo from straight above. Scout reads it like a gut doctor with a sense of humour: the Bristol type, a weight guess, the colour, and the points it would score.

Three steps. No paperwork.

  1. 1

    Snap it from above

Whole bowl in frame, decent light. Lid up, phone steady, dignity optional.

  2. 2

    Scout grades it

The Bristol type (1 to 7), a weight guess using the bowl as a ruler, and the colour, in plain words.

  3. 3

    Points, then bragging

A 3 or 4 scores best. Send a friend a link and dare them to beat it.

What you get back

A real result screen, minus the photo (there isn't one, it's gone). This is the one every scout is chasing.

  • The Bristol type the doctor's 7-type chart, with the sweet spot marked
  • A weight guess using the bowl as a ruler
  • The colour and what it usually means, without the panic
  • Points that count on the board if you save it

The privacy promise

Graded, then gone.

  • Your photo is read once, in memory, and thrown away. It's never stored or logged.
  • No account needed. If you don't save the grade, it disappears after 30 minutes too.
  • Save it and the board only ever shows the type, the weight and the points. Or keep it private and show nothing.

Questions people are too polite to ask

Is it really free?

Yes. Your first grade needs no account and no card. Make a free profile and you can grade a few a day and climb the board.

Do you keep my photo?

No. The photo is graded in memory and thrown away straight after. Nobody at Stool Scout ever sees it, and it's never saved anywhere.

How accurate is it?

Scout is good at the Bristol type and the colour, and makes an honest guess at the weight using the bowl as a ruler. A clear photo from straight above in good light helps a lot.

What's a good score?

Types 3 and 4 are the sweet spot and score the most points (40 and 50). Types 1–2 lean constipated, 6–7 lean diarrhea. The Bristol Stool Chart explains all seven.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. After your grade, tap Challenge a friend and send the link. They get one free grade too, and Scout tells you both who won.

Is this medical advice?

No. It's general wellness information with jokes. If Scout spots something worth a look, like blood or a black, tarry colour, it says so plainly. Talk to a doctor if anything worries you.

Go on. Scout's ready.
